According to Nilov, the idea of creating a memcoin dedicated to Zhirinovsky was inspired by recent events in the United States. Last weekend, American President-elect Donald Trump launched his own token – Official Trump (TRUMP). Following him, the first lady of the United States, Melania, issued a coin.
In a matter of hours, TRUMP’s capitalization exceeded $13 billion. Memcoin broke into the top 20 largest cryptocurrencies on the market. However, the value of the coin soon fell, causing volatility throughout the crypto market. For this, Trump received a barrage of criticism from cryptans.
The deputy emphasized that he will discuss issues related to the technical and legal aspects of creating a “meme” coin for Zhirinovsky with deputy Andrei Lugovoy, who heads the expert council in the State Duma under the working group on legislative regulation of cryptocurrencies.
Nilov added that Zhirinovsky is very similar to Trump in temperament. That is why such a topic as the creation of a memcoin dedicated to a Russian politician deserves special attention, the parliamentarian believes.
The anniversary of Vladimir Zhirinovsky will take place on April 25.
Such an extraordinary initiative will likely attract the attention of cryptans, but is unlikely to reach Trump’s level. According to CoinMarketCapat the time of writing, the market value of TRUMP exceeds $9 billion, and the token price is $48.96.
Capitalization of memcoin MELANIA meanwhile exceeded $1.6 billion. The asset is currently trading at $8.36.
