Valve today begins open sales of the long-awaited Steam Deck game console.

It will look like this. At 21:00 Moscow time, the company will begin sending out the first batch of emails to users who have made a reservation to the addresses specified in the Steam profile. They will have 72 hours to complete the purchase of the reserved Steam Deck model on Steam. If they cancel or don’t make a purchase during that time, the booking will go to the next person in line.

There are three versions in total:
- With 64 GB of built-in flash memory (eMMC) and a case included – for $ 399
- With 256 GB of onboard flash storage (NVMe), holster included, and special Steam Community Profile Bundle – $529
- With 512 GB of internal flash memory (NVMe), exclusive case included, anti-reflective glass, special Steam Community Profile Pack and special virtual keyboard theme – $649
Meanwhile, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell has already talked about the first results of the booking and the conclusions made in the company. As it turned out, the most popular Steam Deck was the 512 GB version for $649. The company concluded that gamers are willing to pay more for such a set-top box and are thinking about a more powerful second-generation Steam Deck.
Newell explained:
By and large, buyers say: “We would like to see an even more expensive version of the device” if it has more power or something like that.
