The Stock Exchange maintains the 890 units

LAST UPDATE: 13.35

The Athens Stock Exchange is moving steadily in the zone of 890 points and with small gains, which closes the year on the line of multi-month accumulation, which dominated for most of the year, but also lower than the psychological limit of 900 points.

In particular, the General Index records gains of 0.26% at 893.12 points, while the turnover is at 10.7 million euros and the volume at 3.8 million units. The FTSE 25 also recorded an increase of 0.36%, to 2,149.82 points, while the banking index gained 0.45% to 575.83 points.

Even at the end of 2021, the ATHEX did not close the door on the Long even close to the highest point of the 9-month accumulation, remaining essentially in the middle of a range that afflicted the majority of investors and prevented even more from entering a promising market. . A market that failed to be “moved” by the unprecedented storm of positive assessments of foreigners for the Greek economy, showing once again that it has structural weaknesses that prevent it from operating at a discount.

So the picture that has already been formed for the year that expires today, with almost + 10% of the key indicators satisfying most portfolios. Of course, despite the nine-month accumulation and the absence of investment initiatives for higher levels, the market managed to keep some defenses in the turmoil caused by the new outbreak of the pandemic, but also to see with greater demands the long-marginalized medium capitalization.

Technically, the market is definitely tired, as if one sees both the economy and the results of the companies along with the important clarification of the banking sector, it will be difficult to find a serious reason for its image. Of course, as long as the general index is maintained above 850 points at the end of the month, the picture is not so negative. However, the downward break of 880 units can give movement again in the 855-860 zone.
