The stories We are: women in the world divided by the pandemic

What was the moment when the pandemic disrupted everything in our lives? That’s what they asked themselves Monica, Mimma and Drusilla. From three different points of the globe. They are in fact «Friends of the time», a virtual community of women in the world who share experiences and problems. “Wherever you are, there will always be a friend of the time for you”, is their motto.

Monica deals with management training and, until a few months ago, she lived in India with her family. Then the covid exploded, overwhelming the country where she was forced to leave, even if for a long time she was not allowed to return to Italy, where she lives today.

For Drusilla, web content expert, everything changed on February 26, 2020. “When my children and I at the airport in Frankfurt were unable to board the plane to Riyadh and reach my husband”. They succeeded after thirty-six weeks of anxiety and fear. “We saw him again on August 23”.

In that same period, Kuwait, where Mimma, a blogger, lived with her family, blocked access to residents from Italy. And Mimma got stuck in Dubai, which has now become her new home. “It was not easy to accept not being able to return to the country that was our world for 8 years. Our life”.

Thanks to the network, Monica, Mimma, Drusilla and many other women have continued to support themselves from different parallels and worlds. “In this pandemic, none of us have remained the same. At best, we all had to deal with a new reality ».
