The story of Antonella, who became a mother and, a few hours later, graduated

She became a mother and a doctor of architecture on the same day, a few hours apart. Antonella Capizzi, from Turin, 33 years old, in the night, around 3, she gave birth to her daughter, Gaia, and the next morning, at 11, she defended her thesis master's degree in Green Areas and Landscape Design.

Last Thursday she went to hospital in Turin for a check-up, but she was detained and hospitalized for checksas he told a TorinoToday: «Every day news came out about my clinical picture that was worsening». A few days later he was supposed to defend his degree thesis in Genoa (his course was an inter-university degree course, between the Polytechnic of Turin, the University of Turin, the University of Milan and the University of Genoa).

«I came for a simple check before proceeding with this journey, albeit short, to Genoa and in the end they detained me because I had contractions, my cervix was shortened and while I was hospitalized they discovered that I had ruptured membranes. In the meantime they saw that I also had the complication of a bacterium, as long as they were forced to induce emergency labor. Until the end I didn't know if I could participate in the thesis discussion because, obviously, when you induce childbirth you don't know the timing.”

The birth was induced on Tuesday afternoon, and until then «I was reviewing and preparing for this discussion that I had already organized via the web, but for a moment I feared I would have to postpone until the next session the discussion, obviously for a much more beautiful event, however, there were a lot of worries.”

The speaker was very helpful and gave the future mother the opportunity to be able to update «even during labora decidedly paradoxical situation.”

Gaia was born at night and, in the morning, «I kept her with me: she wanted so much to be present and she worked so hard to be born and he was with me while I was discussing and when they proclaimed me». And she brought her luck: Antonella graduated with 110 cum laude.
