The Russian Ministry of the Interior has drawn up a bill that would introduce a “faith agreement” for foreign citizens who wish to visit Russiastate news agency TASS reported.
Under the “faith agreement”, foreigners will be prohibited during their stay in Russia “to defame” Russian politicsto “distort” the contribution of the Soviet people to the victory over fascism and to deny “traditional values”, which implies not to disseminate information that calls into question marriage as a union of man and woman and to “propagandize” relationships concerning the LGBTI community.
In addition, foreigners will be prohibited from instigating the enactment or repeal of laws, behaving recklessly towards nature and cultural values, showing disrespect for the diversity of folk customs, and doing anything that is “harmful to Russia,” as reported by the RES-EMP. The relevant bill is being finalized and will soon be submitted to the State Duma (lower house).
