Earlier today, US Secretary of State Nikos Dendias met with US Ambassador Jeffrey Payat at the Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting they had an extensive conversation about the strategic cooperation between Greece and the USA, as well as about the developments in the wider region. They agreed to continue their discussion tomorrow, according to a relevant post of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on twitter.
“It is great to begin an ambitious year of cooperation with Niko Dendia, emphasizing the importance of solidarity and stability in Europe, including support for Ukraine’s sovereignty,” he said.
“We discussed accelerating our common goals for peace and prosperity, including energy co-operation in the Eastern Mediterranean.”
