The platform MUBI announced this Thursday (24) the premiere of “The Substance “, horror film starring Demi Moore in its catalogue.
The film won the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 .

According to the announcement, production will be available from October 31 . “Soon, you will be able to try The Substance in your home”, jokes the statement released on Instagram.
In the plot of “The Substance”, an actress who achieved success years ago is fired from the fitness program she ran on television. From this, she is invited to participate in a medical treatment that promises a new, young version of herself based on a process of cellular replication — as a result, the two versions must coexist.
The production stars Moore (“Ghost – On the Other Side of Life” and “Questão de Honra”), Margaret Qualley (“Once Upon a Time in…. Hollywood” and “The Maid”) and Dennis Quaid (“Operation Cupid” and “The Day After Tomorrow”). The direction is by the French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat .
Winner of Best Screenplay at the 2024 Cannes Festival, “The Substance” is still showing in cinemas. The 2025 Golden Globes are expected to announce their nominees at the end of the year.
