The horror movie “The Substance” got a teaser and a release date in Brazil this Thursday (11). The title hits Brazilian cinemas on September 19th. It was screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and won the award for Best Screenplay in the competition.
In the plot, an actress who was successful years ago is fired from the fitness program she hosted on television. After this, she is invited to participate in a medical treatment that promises a new, young version of herself through a process of cellular replication. With this, the two versions must coexist.
The production stars Demi Moore (“Ghost – From the Other Side of Life” and “A Question of Honor”), Margaret Qualley (“Once Upon a Time in…. Hollywood” and “The Handmaiden”) and Dennis Quaid (“The Parent Trap” and “The Day After Tomorrow”). Directed by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat .
