If the Met Gala is one of the most anticipated events of the year, it is not only for the outfits that are seen parading on the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, but it is also because every year things that will enter the annals of the event every year. Probably, this year, Rihanna was stolen from the scene with the announcement of the third pregnancy, but this only happened. Here are the moments that we will remember of the 2025 Met Gala.

The excellent absent

For many celebrities, it is unthinkable to decline an invitation to MET. Still, there is someone who, despite everything, decides not to participate, like Lebron James and Naomi Campbell. The first, despite being one of the co-chair of the evening, was forced to stay at home because of a bad knee injury, the second, however, wrote a post on Instagram explaining that it would not have been, but however he assured that he would be there “with his spirit”.

Strong with the ex: Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan

As we know, the actor and the singer made a fixed couple for a year and then left at the end of 2024. We do not know if they ever revised since then, but the Met has given us for the umpteenth time the embarrassing moment in which two ex finds themselves parading a few centimeters from each other. Not to mention that this year’s edition would also represent a sort of anniversary for them: Exactly one year after their debut as a couple at the met. Too bad it doesn’t last.

If on social networks they are all crazy for Diana Ross, it was not only for her dress with a kilometer train. The last appearance of the singer at Met dates back to 2003: So, this return has been waiting for more than 20 years. And, as a legendary diva what it is, it could not find a better way to show itself again to this iconic event.

The (unexpected) presence of Kamala Harris

And, remaining on the subject of people we didn’t think we would ever have seen in this edition of the MET, there is Kamala Harris. The former candidate for the presidency of the United States of the Democratic Party presented himself, in a fairly secluded way, to the event, after months of rather sporadic public apparitions. After the defeat in the elections, Harris has in fact preferred to maintain a low public profile, deflected by many events.

The couples we would have liked to see

We have seen couples during this met, but the lack of some that we wanted to see made itself felt. For example, Kylie Jenner showed up alone againwhile his Timothée Chalamet, as shown a story on Instagram, remained in the hotel to watch a basketball game. But it was not the only one to be alone: Gigi Hadid was not accompanied by Bradley Cooperdespite the recent photo together on the social networks of the model who, after two years, officially confirmed the relationship between the two; as well Hailey Bieber that we would have hoped to see together with Justin. Unfortunately, the singer is going through a difficult period linked to his mental health problems and, for sure, to participate in an event of this type would have been too heavy. In the end, We would also have liked to see Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, but for months the couple seems to have disappeared into thin air.

If you are one of the most famous and talented jazz musicians in the world, seeing your performance is a privilege for anyone. Must have thought more or less the same Serena Williams when she saw Jon Batiste who dedicated a short serenade with her sax on the Met staircase. Certainly, the tennis player is having lived a unique moment.

The improvised reunion of the cast of White Lotus

White Lotus It is also a cult series thanks to its protagonists and, this year, three of them have been invited: Sydney Sweeney, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood. Obviously a randomness, but for a few minutes it seemed to see the spin off of the Mike White series. Nobody would be surprised, in fact, if one of the very rich customers of the famous luxury resort chain participated in the Met.
