Three family members of a 10-year-old girl found dead in Britain in August, who had fled to Pakistan for a month, today pleaded not guilty to her murder in court in London.
The body of 10-year-old Sarah Sharif was found on August 10 at the family’s home in Woking, southern England, after her father called her from Pakistan. An autopsy showed he had “multiple injuries”, which had been inflicted over a long period of time.
After fleeing to Pakistan for a month, the girl’s father Urfan Sharif, 41, his partner Beinas Batul, 29, and Urfan’s brother Faisal Malik, 28, returned to Britain on September 13 and were arrested when they got off the planeas broadcast by APE-MPE.
To them they were charged with murder and remanded in custody. Their trial is scheduled to take place in September 2024. In a video in early September, the girl’s stepmother said her death was an “accident.” Urfan Sharif had fled to Pakistan with his five other children, who were ordered to be transferred to a juvenile detention facility in the country.
