Experts of the analytical company Strategy Analytics have summed up the results of the first quarter of 2021 in the tablet market. According to their calculations, 45.8 million of these devices were shipped during the quarter. This is 44% more than in the same period of the previous year. This growth rate is the highest over the past eight years.

The market leader is Apple. She managed to increase supplies from 9.6 to 16.8 million units, that is, by 75%. As a result, Apple’s market share increased 30.1% to 36.7%.
Samsung is in second place. The South Korean manufacturer for the year increased supplies from 4.7 to 8.3 million units, that is, by 76%. The result was an increase in Samsung’s share from 14.7% to 18.1%.
Third place is taken by Amazon. It lagged behind the market in terms of supply growth, which was only 37%. Amazon’s share has correspondingly decreased from 8.7% to 8.3%.
Lenovo is in fourth place. The Chinese manufacturer significantly outstripped the market, increasing shipments by 138%, which led to an increase in Lenovo’s share from 4.9% to 8.2%.
Next comes Huawei. This is the only member of the top five to cut supplies. The 33% cut resulted in a 9.5% drop in Huawei’s tablet market presence to 4.4%.
