“The tax on the withdrawal of cryptocurrency cannot be less than 15%,” the head of the State Duma committee

The head of the State Duma Industry Committee, Vladimir Gutenev, said that the tax on personal income when miners withdraw cryptocurrency into the traditional finance system cannot be less than 15%. At the same time, the minimum income tax rate for companies or individual entrepreneurs that are engaged in cryptocurrency mining must be at least 6%.

If we equate cryptocurrencies with securities, if there are certain gateways between those who mine, and when this mined cryptocurrency becomes a security for which income tax must be paid. Probably, it should not be less than 15% income tax. Mining itself cannot be less than the 6% tax, as in the “simplification”.

Disputes about the need to legalize cryptocurrency mining in Russia and bring this business into the legal field arose after the publication of a report by the Central Bank, which proposed to ban this type of business. Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the government of the country and the Central Bank (CB) to come to a consensus on the regulation of the cryptocurrency market.

Earlier, the Kommersant publication, citing materials from a meeting held on January 28 with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, reported that by February 11, the Russian government would develop draft scenarios for regulating cryptocurrency markets with an assessment of their expected consequences.
