A temporary US jetty used to offload humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip has been moved back to an Israeli port due to high waves, the Pentagon said in a statement today. It is the third time the pier has been moved away from shore due to weather conditions since it was originally installed in mid-May. “Due to high sea levels expected this weekend, the central command has moved the temporary pier from its mooring in Gaza and will tow it to Ashdod, Israel,” said Sabrina Singh, deputy spokeswoman for the Pentagon, citing the US military command in charge of the Middle East.
