The ten songs that terminally ill patients listen to just before they die

Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” and The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” are among the most popular songs that terminally ill patients choose to listen to in their final moments. End-of-life care charity Marie Curie has put together what it describes as the first ever playlist, ‘curated’ by people at the end of their lives, through research conducted on bereaved relatives. Other songs covered by the 1,000 adult participants from the UK include Judy Garland’s ‘Over The Rainbow’ and Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’. Also included in this touching list are Tina Turner’s ‘(Simply) The Best’, Robbie Williams’ ‘Angels’ and, perhaps surprisingly, Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’.
