Samsung has announced that it has broken yet another 5G industry speed record. In collaboration with Verizon and Qualcomm, the Korean giant set a record in Plano, Texas, where it achieved download speeds of 711 Mbps.

The transfer rate is fast enough to record and upload HD video to the cloud or social media in real time.
The demo was conducted using Samsung 5G and 4G base stations and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem. Specifically, high data rates have been achieved through carrier aggregation technology by combining two or more frequency bands in Samsung’s 5G Compact Macro solution. The same 5G mmWave Compact Macro station was used by Samsung to increase data rates on the Seoul subway network during a demonstration held last month.
