My parents told me, ‘Just do this last taped audition and then you can go out and play with your friends again.’ I said, ‘Okay, yeah, I should audition for this one because it looks interesting.’
Finally, Millie, 18, reflected on the fact that from a very young age she felt attracted to acting, since “she always struggled with her own identity and with knowing who she was”, for which she yearned for the possibility offered by being able to “be different people” due to the magic of cinema. At first it was very funny. And then I was like, ‘God, I could really do things with acting. I could really change the world with this.’ There was something about acting that made me feel powerful, shocking, like I could inspire people.
