The third meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Greece and Turkey in the framework of the ‘Positive Agenda’ has been completed

In a friendly and cordial atmosphere, according to a relevant joint announcement, the third meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Costas Frangogiannis, with his Turkish counterpart, Sedat Onal, took place this morning in Athens, within the framework of the Initiative in the dialogue with Turkey, in the fields of economy and trade.

Both sides welcomed the progress made on specific issues. In particular, the opening of negotiations for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Enterprise Greece and the corresponding Turkish body Invest in Turkey, the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates against Covid-19, the progress of the Joint Tourism Committee and the reactivation of the Joint Venture. During today’s meeting, trade and business relations between the two countries, prospects for cooperation in the fields of transport and telecommunications, as well as strengthening cooperation in addressing environmental challenges were also discussed.

Following the work, the two sides expressed their commitment to continue working to further strengthen the Positive Agenda initiative.
