The so-called and “tough” indicators of the pandemic are still being looked at by the government and experts, with health measures to limit the spread of the “Omicron” strain… running for three weeks now and the debate on its removal strategy being the next big front, which will be answered within the next twenty-four hours. At the same time, last night the vaccination deadline for the age group over 60 and over, those of our fellow citizens who have not done the first dose or do not have a scheduled home appointment are faced with the first wave of fines.

According to government sources, 90% of those over 60 have been vaccinated or have made an appointment. Thanks to the mandatory, the rate of vaccination coverage for age groups aged 60 and over, who are also the most vulnerable if they get coronavirus, has increased by almost ten points. Specifically, 2,761,838 citizens over 60 have been vaccinated or have made an appointment and as of November 30, 2021, 217,000 new vaccinated have been added.

As of today, the process of final crossroads between the General Secretariat of Information Systems, IDIKA and AADE of AMKA and AFM of unvaccinated citizens over 60 years of age is lifting the curtain, so that the final list can be drawn up and the certificates of fines can be made by the end of the month. Any exceptions concern foreign residents, those who have a decision to exempt from the obligation of vaccination by the three-member Health Committees of each Region for health reasons, those who have been vaccinated abroad and those who have applied for vaccination at home and vaccination has not yet taken place.

All this, in fact, at a time when government officials are expressing satisfaction with the way the first week of returning to lifelong learning went. “The opening of the schools, despite the hysterical cries of the opposition and some scholars, proved to be a very good decision which was justified by the facts.
