The Times: The West knows the name of the man who financed the sabotage of the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines

The man who financed the blowing up of the natural gas pipelines “Nord Stream-1” and “Nord Stream-2” was a Ukrainian citizen unrelated to government of Volodymyr Zelensky, writes the British newspaper The Times.

The newspaper points out that the organization of the sabotage was a private initiative of the Ukrainian in question, who paid with his own money for the rent of the yacht, the hiring of elite divers, fake passports and the purchase of explosives available only in the oil and gas industry. .

The Times points out that Western intelligence agencies know the Ukrainian allegedly behind the bombing. His name has not been released to avoid provoking a conflict between Ukraine and Germany amid negotiations over arms supplies in Kiev.

Citing information from the US intelligence services, the New York Times yesterday attributed the sabotage to “a pro-Ukrainian group”but without the involvement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Yesterday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated that Ukraine was not involved in the sabotage of the two Nord Stream natural gas pipelines in the Baltic last September. “It is not of our own doing,” he said.

An adviser to the president of Ukraine has since the night before yesterday denied Kiev’s involvement, referring to “fun conspiracy theories”.

Also yesterday, according to the German Die Zeit, the yacht from which the operation of sabotaging the pipelines started is the property of a company owned by two Ukrainians.

On the occasion of these reports, Germany’s Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius recommended yesterday “not to draw hasty conclusions”.

On September 26, 2022, massive leaks from four points following underwater explosions occurred in pipelines connecting Russia to Germany in international waters.

Despite investigations by coastal countries (Germany, Sweden and Denmark), responsibility for the attack remains unknown.
