Telegram users in select African countries began to receive full access to the functions of the TON Wallet crypto wallet. This marked the start of global integration of the application into the messenger, said Andrey Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform.
“I’m happy to announce that the global rollout of Wallet in Telegram starts today.
It’s a very exciting moment, and our team worked very hard.
We’re starting with selected countries in Africa, expanding to MENA, EE, and Asia in Q1 2024, and to the entire world by Q2 2024.”

The implementation of Wallet will happen gradually, he noted. Initially, wallet functions will be available to users in some African countries. In the first quarter of 2024, the product will appear in the Telegram messenger in the Middle East and Asia. At that time, clients from Eastern Europe will be able to use Wallet.
The implementation of the wallet in Telegram is planned to be fully completed in the second quarter of 2024. After this, the developers will switch to integrating the exchange into the messenger.
In July 2023, the Wallet bot team introduced a payment solution based on the TON blockchain, which allows users to make transactions with cryptocurrencies directly in the messenger interface.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov believes that this move will allow developers to introduce hundreds of new features to his project. He also confirmed plans to implement a crypto exchange based on the messenger.
Amid news about Wallet integration, the TON coin rose in price by 49.44% over the week. The past 24 hours have shown an increase in the price of TON by 16.53%, according to the TradingView portal.
