Mandy Allwood was in the news when she announced she was waiting octopuses, who were born at 24 weeks and did not make it. The woman passed away at the age of 56 after a battle with cancer and her body will be cremated. But no one from her family will attend the ceremony.
Her story made headlines around the world when she announced she was expecting octopuses in 1996 at the age of 31 with her partner Paul Hudson.
But the six boys and two girls, who were born in three days, did not survive.
Allwood, which never recovered from the tragic loss, will be cremated and paid for by the local community. No one will be present, as her family refused to go.
Her shocking story resulted in her appearing at Oprah Winfrey and having dinner with Princess Diana, as reported by the Daily Mail.
But she struggled with depression, suicide attempts and alcoholism after her breakup with Hudson. He also lost custody of the three children which she brought to life when she was caught driving drunk with them in the back of the car in 2007.
She walked away from her family and went on to say that she could still feel the children kicking inside her every day.
She tried to take her own life in two cases.
The cremation of her body was scheduled for Friday morning.
