One of our favorite Netflix series announced its fifth season and we look forward to its premiere day. Of course, we mean The Crownone of the most acclaimed dramas on the platform.
The story of the royal family continues. In addition, the fifth season promises us that there will be arguments, infidelities and controversy. The new installment will take us back to the 1990s, to recount various fragile events, on a personal level, of Queen Elizabeth II.
Like the fire at Windsor Castle, the divorce of their son Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and, of course, the long-awaited story of the breakup of Charles and Diana. The cast of this new season is made up of actress Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesly Manville as Margarita, Dominic West as Carlos, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker.
As expected, all fans of The Crown We are very attentive to its premiere, which will arrive on November 9. Meanwhile, we already have the official trailer, which is one of the most controversial in the series. Accompanied by a beautiful version of Bittersweet Symphony from The Verve, Netflix isn’t giving away a sneak peek at what this tumultuous season will be.
Due to the writers of this series of British royalty, we will witness that time when Queen Elizabeth II was about to complete her forty years on the throne and how she is pressured by Charles to grant her a divorce. In addition, we will clearly see the romance between the now king of the United Kingdom and Camilla Parker.
On the other hand, in the trailer you can see Diana claiming that she “never was given a chance”, as well as third parties who give their opinion about her mental health. In this same video also appears the scandalous interview that Lady Di gave to Martin Bashir, in which Will and Harry’s mother spoke of her husband’s romance with Camilla.
This interview we are referring to is the one in which the Princess of Wales said that there were three in her marriage and opened her heart by confessing her feelings about the crown, since she knew that they saw her as a threat for not following the rules and monarchical protocols.
