The Transpor project offers consultancy to help the trans population to enter the job market.
ANTRA data indicate that these people deal with exclusion from a very early age, even at home.
Part of the trans women, according to the institution, for example, are expelled by their parents at the age of 13 and end up resorting to prostitution.
This generates a negative cycle, as these people often do not complete their education and find it more difficult to enter the professional market.
“The project offers consultancy for 2 months of follow-up, going through all the phases of the selection process”, explained the creator of Transpor, Bárbara Alves.
THE CNN Radio on CNN on Plural+, she said that one of the main points is to give autonomy to those who sign up.
“We teach them what the curriculum is like, the rationale behind it, we help them create a profile on LinkedIn, which is important to naturalize the presence of trans people at different hierarchical levels.”
There is also a focus on how to improve performance, have self-confidence.
“The interview is a process that can be violent, people who have a trajectory outside what society considers within normality, and we provide career consultancy”, he added.
This last step is considered important for her: “It is the main one, we work with people’s tastes and skills, which paths they can take to reach their goals.”
After that, there is a bank of indications for companies that are partners in the project.
If there is a hiring, there is also a follow-up, to be sure of the reception.
At this moment, Bárbara defends that companies are in this process, evolving little by little.
“Diversity needs to be at every step, but the good news is that this process has started.”
