Chinese cars in Russia are becoming more and more popular: in April their share was 12.6%, while a year earlier it was only 6.1%. Last month, every eighth car bought in Russia has a Chinese brand.
It is worth noting that in fact sales of Chinese cars decreased by 66% to the level of 3521 cars. However, the entire market fell even more, so Chinese brands strengthened their positions in Russia. Recall that Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said in an interview with TASS that Chinese cars will increase their share in the Russian market, for which they have every opportunity.
Chery ranked first in April with 1,143 cars sold. This is followed by Haval and Geely, with sales of 979 and 624 vehicles, respectively. Exeed sales totaled 506 vehicles. The rest of the companies could not cross the mark of 100 cars.
Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, which was the best-selling Chinese car in Russia last year but never topped this year, took first place with a score of 469 units. The Haval Jolion, which had been a bestseller for the first three months, dropped to number three with sales of 397 cars.
The second place went to the crossover Chery Tiggo 8, sales of which amounted to 408 cars. Also in the top ten were Geely Coolray (244), Haval F7 (237), Haval F7x (232), Exeed TXL (205), Chery Tiggo 4 (202), Geely Tugella (186) and Exeed VX (173).
