“The Turks should know that we will react in such a way that they will remember it three generations later”

The Turks have been following a specific strategy towards Greece for decades. They follow her faithfully and at some point they will reach the end of their plan. “This end, according to the Turks, will be the change of the status quo in the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean”. THE Georgios Philis he is clear. “Turkey perceives itself to be a power, something between Germany, England and France. The political-military elite believes that the time has come to end the issue of Greece and Hellenism”.

We met with the doctor of geopolitics and assistant professor of international relations in his studio Newsbeast and we attempted to analyze Erdogan’s plans. “They’re going to try to start a controlled crisis and get us to a point where either something is done by accident or a situation is created that is going to be intractable.”says to podcast Mr. Philis.

“The main thing collapsing states is one: overextension”, emphasizes the professor, referring to Turkey and notes that while it has a strong military sector, it does not have the basic characteristics to become a great power. Turkey’s enemies are many andthose who want to hit her, are praying that there will be an episode with Greece, in order to take advantage of it”.

But where can a possible episode involving our country go? “That depends on both of them. If we accept that the leader, General Floros, said that the next episode between Greece and Turkey will not be a point but will develop into a conflict that can be from Thrace to Cyprus, the Turks should take it seriously . We have to increase their uncertainty about what will happen in the episode they are planning and increase their confidence that we will react in such a way that they will remember it three generations from now.”.

The doctor of geopolitics also stood at “easy solution of Cyprus” and the way it could be used by the Turks and the key role played by the mega-island in Hellenism for centuries.
