We’ve already posted some details on the updated Steam stats. So, for example, the most popular new video card in the service unexpectedly turned out to be the GeForce RTX 3070. And now a no less interesting graph has been published on the processors used in gaming computers for gamers.

As it turned out, 2021 was a turning point for eight-core processors – their share is almost equal to the share of dual-core processors. That is, the “ancient” gaming computer systems are increasingly giving way to much more modern ones. However, even more users prefer six-core PCs – in three years their share has increased to 30% from practically zero.

Quad-core CPUs still prevail in gaming computers, but their share is gradually declining: the peak (about 72%) was in 2018, and now they account for just over 40% of the market.
