During the pandemic, Russians began to pay more attention to monitoring their health and mindful physical activity. As a result, sales of smartwatches and bracelets hit record highs for the year.

The demand for wearable devices increased over the year by 17% in units and 38% in monetary terms. Over the past four years, unit sales of the category have grown 6.5 times. In 2020, Russians purchased 5.4 million wearable devices for a total of 41 billion rubles.
Individual sales of smart bracelets account for about half of the entire Russian market for wearable devices. Xiaomi remains the leader among manufacturers of fitness trackers. The most popular model in 2020 was the two-year-old Xiaomi Mi Band 4 bracelet, and the fifth place in the ranking was taken by the same tracker in the version with NFC.
The smartwatch segment is about 35%. The most popular are models with some smartphone capabilities, for example, which allow you to answer calls or messages, make contactless payments. Apple showed the highest positive dynamics among all watch manufacturers and remained the leader. The most popular model on the Russian market is the Apple Watch Series 5, which debuted in 2019.
About 15% of the Russian market in pieces was occupied by children’s watches, which help parents to track the location of the child, as well as receive an SOS signal in case of danger. The most popular brand was Jet, and the best-selling model was the Jet Kid Connect.
