The Ulawun volcano, one of the most dangerous in the world, erupted

The Ulavun volcano erupted in its northeastern part this morning Papua New Guinea, without any injuries. The country’s geo-risk management service announced that “continuous and strong eruptions of dense gray ash clouds” occurred for about 15 minutes from the volcano.

This volcano, one of the most dangerous in the world, is on the list of 16 “volcanoes of the decade”, which are the subject of scientific research because they pose a high risk of powerful eruptions.

The blast sent clouds of smoke about 3,000 meters high, which due to the wind moved to the northwest, with ash falling in various places.

The volcano is located on a secluded island cluster in the Bismarck Archipelago north of Papua New Guinea. Thousands of people were forced to flee their homes due to a series of explosions in 2019 in Ulavan.
