Google has finally closed the Daydream VR project. The last step in this direction was the closure of the VR Play Store and servers.

The closure of the store and the shutdown of servers significantly limits the options for users who have not yet abandoned Daydream VR. In October 2020, updates for Daydream were discontinued. Now the store, the Discover functions, and so on became unavailable.

Google stopped selling Daydream View VR kits in 2019, but many apps stopped supporting them long before that.

Platform support has also been discontinued on Pixel smartphones starting with 2019 models. With the launch of Android 11 in the fall of 2020, Google has finally removed support for the Daydream VR platform on its mobile operating system.
