The UN Security Council met on humanitarian tragedy in Krivi Rich of Ukraine

The UN Security Council met on the situation in Ukraine at the request of the United Kingdom, Denmark and France after the Russian attack on Kribi Rich. Member States were informed about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine by Deputy Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Bureau Coordinator (OCHA) Tom Fletcher. Mr Fletcher began noting that from the previous briefing, “Russia’s air attacks continue to kill and amputate civilians, including children, and destroy political infrastructure.” He focused on the April 4th attack on the city of Kribi Rich, where 18 civilians were killed, including 9 children, while 75 more people were injured in a playground and a residential area. As he said, it was “the most murderous attack on children since February 2022, according to the UN Human Rights Office”.
