The Ilo unemployment rate of the United Kingdom rose to 4.5% in the three months until Marchafter reporting 4.4% in the quarter until February, according to the data published by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) on Tuesday. The market forecast was 4.5% in the reported period.

Additional details of the report showed that the number of people who requested unemployment benefits increased by 5,200 in April, compared to a revised decrease of 16.9K in March, exceeding the expectation of 22,300.

Employment change data were 112,000 in March compared to 206,000 in February.

Meanwhile, the average profits, excluding bonuses, in the United Kingdom increased 5.6% year -on -year (3m yoy) in March compared to a growth of 5.9% previously recorded. The markets were waiting for a result of 5.7%.

Another measure of salary inflation, average profits, including bonuses, advanced 5.5% in the same period after accelerating 5.7% reviewed in the quarter until February. The data exceeded the 5.2%estimate.
