The Tinkoff Bank team announced the launch of Oleg’s digital assistant for everyone. The Defender Assistant can be connected free of charge by subscribers of all Russian mobile operators.

According to the developers, the main skill of “Oleg” is to receive, record and convert incoming calls into text, including from unknown numbers. Oleg can maintain a meaningful dialogue, recognize the interlocutor’s speech and, depending on this, turn on the desired conversation scenario.
Most importantly, it is specially trained to protect people from dangerous, unwanted and annoying calls, from spammers and fraudsters.
In Tinkoff Mobile, Oleg has been working as a telephone secretary for the operator’s subscribers since December 2019. Work on a new version of the publicly available Defender Oleg has been underway since March 2020 – he was trained on over 110 million calls.
As the press service notes, Tinkoff’s telephone secretary has no analogues in the world today. Now the telephone secretary “Oleg” is being launched in beta version. He can already:
- Accept incoming calls instead of the subscriber when he cannot answer;
- Determine the category of an incoming call – spam, scammers, a call from an organization, a useful call (Tinkoff caller ID is used);
- Recognize what the interlocutor is talking about in real time and turn on the desired conversation scenario. Oleg will be able to joke, harass spammers and scammers, dialer robots, etc. For example, the phrases “name your card details”, “SMS password” includes the corresponding conversation script;
- Record an incoming call and send it to the subscriber’s chat (in Telegram, mobile application or VK) in the form of a conversation text and an audio recording of the call;
- The Screen Call function is the ability to control Oleg’s calls and conversations in real time without lifting the phone. The user will be able to write his own text and “Oleg” will voice it right during the conversation;
- Call Back function – the ability to call back “Oleg” for missed calls, so that the telephone secretary can find out from the interlocutor why he called the user;
- Tell interlocutors how not to become victims of scammers, give advice, etc.
In the coming months, he will receive new skills and opportunities:
- reply with preset phrases for selected contacts of the subscriber;
- For Tinkoff clients and Tinkoff Mobile subscribers – to recognize unwanted calls in real time and automatically transfer them to themselves;
- joke and improvise more, will receive new conversation scenarios from famous Russian scriptwriters;
- the robot will be able to show that a delivery or courier is calling – for example, based on the user’s previous transactions and is more likely to guess the delivery of orders;
- Call back the missed number in all versions;
- In the Screen Call function, a text will appear that adjusts to what the interlocutor says. For example, rate from 1 to 10 – buttons for rating will be displayed on the smartphone screen.
Subscribers of any cellular operators on smartphones of any operating system can connect Defender Oleg. This can be done in three ways: through the Tinkoff mobile application, through instant messengers (Telegram and Vkontakte), through the Tinkoff Mobile operator’s application, including the Pro version with Oleg’s advanced voice settings.
