US Monterey discovered an illegal shipment of thousands of weapons while inspecting one of the ships in the Arabian Sea. This was reported by the press service of the US Fifth Fleet.
The seized weapons include dozens of modern Russian-made anti-tank guided missiles, thousands of Chinese Type 56 assault rifles, hundreds of PKM machine guns, sniper rifles and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, as well as improved optical sights.

It took two days to seize the illegal cargo from the American military, after which the ship’s unmarked crew was interrogated and released. The owners of the ship and the destination of its voyage have yet to be determined, the US military said.
