The United States will fund projects involving surveillance equipment to strengthen Ukraine’s borders with Russia and Belarus amid continuing escalation from Moscow, the Ukrainian border service said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.
Kiev accuses Moscow of gathering tens of thousands of troops near its borders, preparing for a possible attack.
Russia has denied any involvement in the attack, but blamed Ukraine and the United States for destabilizing behavior and called for security measures against NATO’s eastward expansion.
The border service said in a statement that the $ 20 million project involved the purchase of video surveillance systems, drones and personal protective equipment for border guards.
