The development of two ships of their Navy in the Black Sea was canceled by USA, as they stated on Wednesday night (14/04) Turkish diplomatic sources, amid concerns about the large-scale deployment of Russian troops on the borders of Ukraine and Crimea.
Last week, Ankara announced that Washington would send two warships to Black Sea, a move that Moscow called it a challenge, pwarning the US to stay away from Russia and Crimea, saying that the risk of an event is very high.
Turkish diplomatic sources reported that The planned crossing of the first American ship from the Bosphorus Strait to sail in the Black Sea did not take place.
The US embassy in Ankara informed the Turkish Foreign Ministry of the decision to cancel the shipment of the ships, sources quoted by APE-MPE said, without giving reasons for the decision.
According to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, citing other Turkish officials, the development scheduled for Wednesday, April 14th and Thursday, April 5th, was canceled and Ankara has not been notified of a possible postponement.
U.S. officials were not immediately available for comment.
