The US airlifted about 145 more people from Lebanon on two planes

The US yesterday (local time) removed 145 more people from Lebanon, with two planes destined for Turkey, as announced by the US State Department, amid an intensification of the Israeli attack against Hezbollah. “Two flights organized by the State Department allowed the safe removal of approximately 145 passengers from Beirut to Istanbul, Turkey, today (Saturday),” a US State Department spokesman said in a statement, without specifying the nationalities of those people. Each aircraft could carry “300 passengers,” the same source said. “To date, we have assisted 600 American citizens, permanent residents (in Lebanon), as well as their immediate family members to leave Lebanon on US-organized flights,” the spokesman continued.
