The US calls on other countries to provide sanctions on Syria

Emergency Deputy Coordinator Joyce Msuja informed the United Nations Security Council on the humanitarian crisis in Syria, stressing that “75% of the population still needs humanitarian aid at this time”. Although conflicts have declined and the interim government’s contacts with international partners have increased, the situation is critical, he said and added that “over 7 million people remain displaced, while 414 people- one-third of them- were killed by ammunition”.
