The US Department of Finance imposed sanctions against the Funnull Technology and its administrator Liu Lizhi, accusing them of providing technical infrastructure for crypto -meshs.

The Ministry of Finance says that Funnull has provided technical support to criminals when creating hundreds of websites related to fraudulent schemes in the field of cryptocurrencies known as Pig butchering (“Faring of pigs”). Fraudsters pretended themselves to be romantic or financial partners, and deceived the victims to investment in fictitious crypto projects.

For these purposes, according to the Ministry of Finance, Funnull purchased the IP address from international cloud services, generated domain names of websites, and also provided cybercriminals with ready-made web design templates to create fraudulent crypto platforms.

In addition, according to the Ministry of Finance, Funnull was engaged in the redirect traffic from legitimate sites of cryptocurrency companies to phishing and gambling resources, some of which could be associated with Chinese criminal groups to launder money. The sites associated with Funnull led American cryptoinvestors to losses worth more than $ 200 million, with an average loss of one person over $ 150,000.

Earlier, the US Department of Finance imposed sanctions against eight cryptocurns related to the network of financial and logistics intermediaries of the Yemensky political and military organization of the Khusitov “Ansarallah”.
