The US has confirmed that the Houthis targeted an American ship operated by a Greek shipping company

The US military – a few hours after the rebels near Iran claimed responsibility – confirmed that the Houthi of Yemen actually targeted an American merchant ship managed by a Greek shipping company clarifying that there were no injuries or damage to the vessel.

The crew of the Marshall Islands-flagged Chem Ranger “saw rockets falling into the water near the vessel”, however “no injuries or damage to the vessel were reported”, which “continued on its course”.the joint command of the US armed forces responsible for the Middle East region (CENTCOM, “central command”) reported via X (the former Twitter).

According to the same source and as reported by the Athens News Agency citing AFP and Reuters, this attack, the latest launched by the Houthis against commercial ships, took place around 21:00 (Yemen time; 20:00 Greek time).
