The US launched a supersonic missile into the Pacific to send a message to China

The US Air Force launched a hypersonic missile over the Pacific Ocean, aiming to send a message to China that it is continuing to run in the arms race and develop new technologies. CNN reports in a related article that Beijing and Moscow have been investing significant sums in recent years in this technology, resulting in an increase in related tests in Asia, where the West does not yet have a significant foothold. In fact, since 2014, China has been testing its hypersonic missiles to carry nuclear warheads, while North Korea has announced that it is conducting related tests, some of which worry the US for security in the Pacific. Washington therefore conducted a test in the Marshall Islands, where a B-52 bomber dropped the missile at the Reagan test site and announced that the exercise was completed successfully, while noting that new ones are expected.
