The utilization of European resources for Greek tourism in the focus of the meeting V. Kikilia – El. Bozemberg

The planning of the Ministry of Tourism for the utilization of the resources of the EU Recovery and Resilience Fund, the strategy of the Greek tourism in view of the next tourist season and the holding of a special event of the European People’s Party for the prospects of tourism, were on its agenda. of the meeting of the Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikilias and the member of the Tourism Committee of the European Parliament and MEP of the New Democracy Eliza Vozemberg, which took place at the Ministry of Tourism.

Mr Kikilias briefed Ms Bozemberg on the recovery of winter destinations during the festive season in a global volatile context due to the “O” variant and presented the plan for utilizing the resources of the EU Recovery and Durability Fund, with 320 million euros from the RRF that will enhance tourism development.

Specifically, the projects concern the management of destinations in the retraining and upgrading of skills of workers in tourism, mountain tourism, health and wellness tourism with the use of thermal springs, agritourism and gastronomy, the upgrading of tourist ports, the accessibility of beaches, diving and underwater tourism, green entrepreneurship and digital upgrading.

Ms. Vozemberg congratulated Mr. Kikilias on drawing up the priorities related to the modern requirements of tourism in a global competitive environment.

During the meeting, it was agreed to hold a special event of the European People’s Party for the prospects of Greek and European tourism, which will take place in late February in Brussels, if the epidemiological situation allows.
