The Valencian tourist voucher runs out in a single day despite the collapse of the computer system

 

The first contracting period of the Valencian tourist voucher lasted barely ten hours, the initiative of the Consell to stimulate internal demand and seasonally adjust the low season with discounts of up to 70% on holidays from two nights. In total, and according to the data released this Wednesday by Valencian Community Tourism, 7,166 Valencian Community Travel Vouchers have been distributed, with a waiting list of 2,280 applications.

The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, has reported that “the vouchers reached their maximum at 10 pm on Tuesday, so that those registered are on the waiting list, which at the beginning of this Wednesday reached 2,280 applications”. According to the same sources, the platform received 600 requests per minute On its first day of operation and during the first hour, more than 1,193 people signed up.

“These figures guarantee that people want to travel despite the current situation, once again they show us the strength of tourism in the Community”, highlighted Colomer, for whom “this program was born to help structure the territory , to feed the self-esteem of the Valencians, to rediscover our tourist areas, and of course, to promote confidence in the security that professional tourist scenarios awaken “.

Keep in mind that the launch of the bonus was not without problems, with the computing platform absolutely crashed due to the volume of requests that were registered since its opening at 12 in the morning.

For his part, the Director General of Tourism, Herick Campos, who is attending a meeting this Wednesday with the tourist brands on the planning of the planned actions, has stressed that “our intention is to insist that tourist spaces are safe, that our sector is prepared to receive tourists with all the guarantees “.

Operation of the waiting list

Each Travel Voucher issued by Valencian Community Tourism supposes a credit reserve of 600 euros, In the event that the reservation is not formalized within seven days or the maximum amount is not exhausted when applying the 70% discount, more codes will be released and more will be awarded bonuses in order of waiting list.

The maximum global amount of aid to be granted amounts to 14,300,000 euros, of which 4,300,000 will correspond to fiscal year 2020, and the rest up to 10,000,000 to fiscal year 2021. Likewise, it is recalled that new application periods are opened in January and October 2021, to travel in the periods indicated in the program.

The Minister of Tourism highlighted the great response and reception by companies with more than 850 adhesions to the Viatgem CV program, “our goal is to help and contribute to making this transition as smooth as possible for the business fabric tourism and this desire to generate hope moves us to continue working in this line “.

The number of companies joining the Viatgem CV program it is increasing, reaching currently 852 companies341 of them are from the province of Alicante, 394 from the province of Valencia and 117 from the province of Castellón. Companies ranging from travel agencies, hotels, blocks or groups of tourist apartments, campsites, rural houses, hostels and companies that manage houses for tourist use, all of them registered in the Valencian Community Tourism Registry.

Seven days to redeem the voucher

Once the registration is made, the applicant who has received his corresponding voucher with a code, you have a period of seven days to formalize the reservation at the travel agency or directly at the hotel establishment. Although you can travel on the date you want, within the three periods indicated in the program, the reservation must be made within a week after the request because the code expires in a week.

Likewise, it is necessary that the reservation includes at least two nights of accommodation. If, in addition to the accommodation, the restaurant service is also reserved, a maximum of half board can be rewarded.

In this context, Tourism has enabled questions and queries about this program remain open, one of them for citizen service 960 992 778 and another for business service 960 992 779. Only yesterday 361 calls from individuals and 99 calls from companies were answered.
