A cup of coffee can be an investment in a better future for the environment, but also for all those involved in its production process. This is also what is done by choosing Nespresso, a company that has always been at the forefront of sustainability.
It does this with AAA Sustainable Quality™, a development program active since 2003 which aims to improve the economic, social, environmental but also cultural conditions of the territories in which it produces, and which directly involves local farmers.
To date, AAA Sustainable Quality™ involved over 110.000 people in 16 countries around the world, including Uganda, Sudan, Nicaragua and India.
One of the primary objectives of the program is gender equality: a crucial issue also in coffee-producing countries because, despite their commitment and work in crops, women rarely cover significant roles. This is why Nespresso has decided to equip them with the tools to become protagonists: guarantees education and training to agronomists and farmers so that they can become autonomous and in turn form other women.
A concrete commitment that has already brought tangible results: today Nespresso women agronomists are about 33%, and thanks to the support offered by the company they economically help their families and they have become a reference model for the social change of entire communities. Because a better future is possible, and it passes through women. In the gallery above some images of the project
