The vandalism of the Turks in Hagia Sophia does not stop

The legendary Hagia Sophia in Constantinople has been left at the mercy of the Vandals and the Huns, as despite what the Turkish government declares from time to time, no effort is made to protect the church, whose official status was changed from a museum to a mosque Two years ago.

With a checkpoint at the entrance to the temple, which is permanently closed, and five people in the garden, whose only concern is to wear headscarves as many women as enter the temple, there is no time left for the actual protection of the monument.

First the imperial gate was used as a shoebox.

Then we saw people scratching the walls to take them home or even eat them, because they are sacred!

Then they filled it with historical marbles which they passed off as a field and, using an inappropriate cleaning machine, were broken by the very people who are supposed to protect it.

Now one of the emblems carved on the gate of Hagia Sophia has been stolen and the matter was highlighted in a broadcast on ATV: “¨Once again Hagia Sophia has become the target of the uneducated. You will remember that in the past they caused damage to the imperial gate, the walls and on the marbles. So now one of the emblems on the door of Hagia Sophia has disappeared. First it was the imperial gate, then the walls and the marbles and now the emblems. Every side of Hagia Sophia is sacred and that’s probably why someone considered it sacred and he took it home. We are next to the imperial gate which is one of the most important parts of Hagia Sophia. Right next to the gate there is a very sad image. See there are many emblems but one of them is missing at the moment. Or stolen or disappeared,” says one of the guests.
