“The Viagem”: other soap operas that also talk about spirits

For the sixth time, the soap opera “The Travel” originally displayed in 1994, is repressed in the It is worth seeing again from TV Globo. With a spiritist theme as the main focus, the plot still explores the possession of spirits, heaven, hell and contacts between living and dead, under the authorship of Ivani Ribeiro.

This, however, was not the first soap opera of the carioca station to approach the spiritist doctrine as the main focus. Learn below other successful productions that also caught the viewer’s attention with similar plots.

“Soul Twin” – 2005

With a playful approach to Spiritism, Walcyr Carrasco’s soap opera, with the collaboration of Thelma Guedes, narrated a love story marked by tragedy. In the early 1920s, botanist Rafael (Eduardo Moscovis) and dancer Luna (Liliana Castro) fell in love at first glance. In a short time, they get married and have a child. Love is envied by the bitter Cristina (Flávia Alessandra), a housekeeper of the couple who is wronged with the idea that the cousin, besides being rich, is married to the man she has always wanted.

To take revenge on the young woman and keep her grandmother’s jewelry, Cristina sets a plot with her admirer Guto (Alexandre Barillari). As they leave a presentation at the São Paulo Municipal Theater, Rafael and Luna are surprised by two bandits. The botanist reacts to the robbery, being saved by his wife, who puts himself in front of him and takes the shot fired through his gun. Even being taken to the hospital, the protagonist does not resist the injuries.

As soon as the character’s death is confirmed, distant from there, the indigenous Jacira (Luciana Rigueira) gives birth to a girl, who gets the name of Serena. Despite growing in a village, the girl shows signs that she knows a life completely different from her – something that catches everyone’s attention. Encouraged to search for her dreams, the character who is played by Priscila Fantin grows and moves to São Paulo, where she begins to work as a maid at Rafael’s house. In this way, the plot brings a reunion of soul mates, something that will leave Cristina desperate and completely willing to disturb the happiness of the new couple.

“Pages of Life” – 2006

In the work of Manoel Carlos, student Nanda (Fernanda Vasconcellos) becomes pregnant while completing an exchange abroad. Abandoned by the boy, the young woman returns to Brazil pregnant with a couple of twins. During delivery, however, she dies and is up to her mother, Marta (Lilia Cabral) care for grandchildren.

The matriarch, in turn, rejects the granddaughter Clara (Joana Mocarzel), diagnosed with Down syndrome, adopted by the doctor Helena (Regina Duarte). While the boy, Francisco (Gabriel Kaufmann), receives all the love and affection of maternal grandparents. In the form of spirit, Nanda returns to her own home to ensure her children and make them approach, despite all the adversities along the way.

“Beyond Time” – 2015

With two phases, Elizabeth Jhin’s work explores the love story between Lívia (Alinne Moraes) and Felipe (Rafael Cardoso) who fall madly in love. But the plot changes completely when the destination proves to be friendly with them.

The young woman is of simple origin, lives in the convent by imposition of her mother, Emilia (Ana Beatriz Nogueira). While he is from a noble family, and has marriage marked with Melissa (Paolla Oliveira).

The two meet in Campobello, a fictional city in the south of the country, where they begin a troubled novel with tragic end. About 150 chapters later, a new meeting between them and all those around him marks the opportunity to fix the mistakes made in past life. Some follow a new path; Others, no.


Beyond time

“Mirror of Life” – 2018

Again, authored by Elizabeth Jhin, actress Cris Valencia (Vitória Strada) arrives at Rosa Branca, a fictional city in Minas Gerais, with the feeling that she was there before. Déjà Vu’s impression occurs when Alain (João Vicente de Castro), his boyfriend and TV and film director, decides to Filmer his first feature film where he was born.

In the movie, she will give life to the protagonist Julia Castelo. During the research phase to interpret the character, Cris undergoes a time travel experience, facing one of his past lives in the early 1930s.

“The Prophet” – 2006

Written by Ivani Ribeiro, the newsletter addressed the theme of premonition, being set in the 1950s, when Marcos (Thiago Fragoso), a boy with the gift of predicting the future. The first part of the plot shows the protagonist as a boy, when he discovers his sensitivity.

Marcos lives on a farm in São Paulo with his parents, Ana (Vera Holtz) and Jacob (Stênio Garcia), and the younger brother, Lucas (Henrique Ramiro) and, several times, tells facts that usually happen. With several hits, the patriarchs perceive the clairvoyance of the older heir, but do not give much importance to the fact.

One day Cleide (Nicette Bruno), a hitherto unknown woman, goes through the family farm and asks for a glass of water. Upon seeing Marcos, Cleide perceives the gift of the boy and warns Ana and Jacob that when their son grows, he will have to choose between the path of light and the vanity.
