The volume of liquidations on the crypto market per day amounted to almost $200 million

During the period from February 12 to 13, 2024, the volume of liquidations on futures in the cryptocurrency market amounted to $196.5 million. During this period, Bitcoin was traded in the range from $48,000 to $50,300.

According to CoinGlass, over the last 24 hours, the positions of 61,508 traders were liquidated. Approximately $93.5 million in losses occurred on long positions, and almost $103 million on short positions.

The majority of liquidations occurred on trading pairs with Bitcoin and Ethereum – $59.31 million and $49.83 million, respectively.

The largest liquidation of $4.69 million was recorded on the Binance crypto exchange in the ETH/USDT trading pair. The platform also led in terms of the volume of traders’ closed positions per day – more than $94 million.

Note that fluctuations in the rate of the first cryptocurrency during the day occurred against the backdrop of inflation data in the United States. At the time of writing, the asset is trading near $48,750, according to TradingView.

In early January, the daily volume of liquidations exceeded $500 million amid a sharp collapse in Bitcoin.
