The vulgar slogans to a female athlete, the tears and the crowd of 800 people at her side

An entire community was on the side of a girl, who had the position of goalkeeper in the team hockey of the Mars Area High School in Pennsylvania USA. Last month, vulgar slogans against her were heard on the pitch.

Last Monday, a crowd of more than 800 people gathered to support the goalkeeper and her team. The girl had burst into tears when some of the stands shouted vulgar slogans against her, such as “she is the one to go”.

There were so many people who wanted to watch the match that it had to be relocated and moved to a bigger stadium.

“Girls are strong” and “we belong on the ice” said some of the banners held by the spectators.

The Mars hockey team played a game on October 28 at the Belmont Ice Arena, where about 50 to 60 Armstrong High School students started shouting insults at the female goalkeeper.

Her coach, Steve Myers, described the incident as “very disappointing”. He added that the championship has other women athletes and such unsuitable slogans have never been heard from before.

However, competent voices said that the fight should have stopped until the fans were escorted out of the building.

Following this incident, Armstrong students were banned from watching hockey matches. Their school hockey team will be under close scrutiny for next season.

School authorities are reportedly conducting an investigation to identify those who shouted the awful slogans.
