The confrontation between Sony and Microsoft in the game consoles market is actively gaining momentum. If in the last generation there was virtually no question of any direct competition, now, apparently, gamers should prepare for the return of the war of consoles.
Sony wants to make Resident Evil Village slightly less accessible to Xbox owners, sources say. There is no question of exclusivity, but the company allegedly banned Capcom from releasing a new game on the Xbox Game Pass service during the first year of the project’s life.
This follows from the documents of the agreement between Sony and Capcom, which appeared on the web. At the same time, the authenticity of the documents has not yet been confirmed, but many authoritative sources speak in their favor.
At the same time, it is not at all necessary that without this agreement, Resident Evil Village would appear in Xbox Game Pass in the next year, after all, it is a blockbuster. Sony just decided to play it safe.
Resident Evil Village launches on PlayStation, Xbox, Staida and PC on May 7th.
