The White House confirms the Biden-bin Salman meeting in July

US President Joe Biden is expected to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his trip to the Middle East from July 13th to 16th. “Yes, we can expect the president to see the crown prince,” said White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre.

Joe Biden will discuss energy production as part of his trip to the Middle East this month, which includes Saudi Arabia, said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

“Oil production will be part of this debate,” he told MSNBC in an interview as the White House announced details of Biden’s travels, noting the decision by OPEC + to boost production. “Obviously there will be some discussions about energy production.”

At the same time, the White House is discussing possible changes in some “irresponsible” tariffs imposed on Chinese products by former US President Donald Trump, which increase the costs to US families and businesses, said the spokeswoman of the US presidency.

Karin Jean-Pierre said internal discussions were ongoing, but gave no further details on what President Joe Biden was thinking.

“We are discussing this issue and working to align these random tariffs, and our priorities are to safeguard the interests of our employees and our crucial industries,” a spokeswoman for the presidential Air Force One aircraft told reporters.
